Charpy impact properties and numerical modeling of polycarbonate composites

چکیده

Polycarbonate composites are widely spread in many industries, for product manufacturing. Although these materials being used with high fidelity, their mechanical properties will highly depend on manufacturing processes, fiber orientations respect to external loads, type of loading, environmental conditions, and so forth. This paper presents the Charpy impact behavior three polycarbonate grades, notched unnotched as follows: Makrolon 2405—unreinforced polycarbonate, 9415—polycarbonate 10% glass fiber, 8035—polycarbonate 30% fiber. The experimental measurements clearly demonstrated effect content strength material: ratio increases, decreases, exhibiting brittle behavior. characterization specimens can facilitate material selection applications higher geometrical complexities, where stress concentrators cannot be eliminated. In addition, models obtained through correlations could help increase simulation accuracy speed up development cycles.

some properties of fuzzy hilbert spaces and norm of operators

in this thesis, at first we investigate the bounded inverse theorem on fuzzy normed linear spaces and study the set of all compact operators on these spaces. then we introduce the notions of fuzzy boundedness and investigate a new norm operators and the relationship between continuity and boundedness. and, we show that the space of all fuzzy bounded operators is complete. finally, we define...

Effect of Graphite Nanoplate Morphology on the Dispersion and Physical Properties of Polycarbonate Based Composites

The influence of the morphology of industrial graphite nanoplate (GNP) materials on their dispersion in polycarbonate (PC) is studied. Three GNP morphology types were identified, namely lamellar, fragmented or compact structure. The dispersion evolution of all GNP types in PC is similar with varying melt temperature, screw speed, or mixing time during melt mixing. Increased shear stress reduces...

Carbon Nanotube Polycarbonate Composites for Ultrafast Lasers

Single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) are at the center of nanotechnology research. Their nonlinear optical behavior makes them promising for applications in ultrafast photonics. SWNTs are indeed good saturable absorbers, i.e., they are transparent to high-intensity light, with ultrafast recovery time. Saturable absorbers must always keep a delicate balance between the modulation depth and nonsa...

Mechanical properties of in situ composites based on polycarbonate and a liquid crystalline polymer

The mechanical properties of in situ composites based on blends of polycarbonate and a liquid crystalline copoly(ester amide) (Vectra B950) have been studied as functions of the liquid crystalline polymer (LCP) concentration and the draw ratio, a processing parameter. It is shown that both the elastic modulus and the tensile strength of the in situ composites increase steadily with the LCP conc...
